East Lansing Public Schools’ Superintendent Robyne Thompson is one of five finalists to serve as Superintendent of the Huntsville, Alabama City Schools, according to an article published January 5 on Alabama digital news source Al.com.

According to the article (which incorrectly locates ELPS in Clinton Township), the Huntsville schools are filling a vacancy that occurred when their previous Superintendent resigned in September of 2016. A two-month search has reportedly narrowed the applicant field from 70 to the five finalists who will be interviewed January 17-23. A new superintendent is expected to be named January 30.

Thompson has been Superintendent of the East Lansing Public Schools since 2014. There is no information about a possible move on the ELPS site’s “Superintendent’s Page,” which was last updated on September 6, 2016.

We have reached out to Thompson, and will update you if we receive new information.
